CFP: CyberOrient: Online Journal of the Virtual Middle East

Peer-reviewed journal from the American Anthropological Association and the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, CyberOrient: Online Journal of the Virtual Middle East, is currently calling for papers of all disciplines that explore the relationships between ‘virtual’ and ‘real’ battle spaces of wars within a (new) media age.

In collecting a diversity of interdisciplinary perspectives about related questions, the special issue of the journal will serve to address and analyze our entrance into a new phase of warfare where kinetic and traditional military power are losing importance to symbolic and media power.

Submissions can be sent to Helga Tawil-Souri (helga@nyu.edu) and Vit Sisler (vit.sisler@ff.cuni.cz) until September 30, 2014. Articles considered for publication should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words (including references), and follow the AAA style in referencing and citations. Accepted articles will be published online with free access in spring 2015.
