The impact of Christian relativism

The past few months have shown how Christianity is changing and will need to continue to adapt in the future. In April, the pope decided to tell people to accept divorced Catholics. Very recently, a gay preacher was ordained as a Baptist minister. These are just two examples of how the culture of Christianity is changing. Cultural relativism is an important term that has had a strong impact on Christianity. The term means that people have a hard time understanding another one's culture without having grown up with it, therefore people should strive to emphasize more with foreign cultures and people. The problem with cultural relativism is that it is difficult to change ideas when the Bible says something different. The bible is very much black and white, so cultural relativism can often times seem hypocritical. The point of the matter is that people should make up their own mind on what they believe.
