Call for applications: Post-Doctoral Fellowship at NYU

The Center for Religion and Media at New York University has applications open for their first in a series of one-year competitive postdoctoral fellowships. The Henry R. Luce Initiative on Religion in International Affairs will fund the fellowship. The funding is based on a project over the religious stakes in digital times: scholars and journalists in conversation. They invite applications from scholars in the humanities and/or social sciences who are interested in writing about religion for the center’s online magazine The Revealer for a year. The magazine is a review of religion and media for the general public. The post-doctoral fellows would have two main jobs during their time at NYU. The first job would to write and publish stories for The Revealer. Their other responsibility will be to plan and facilitate one workshop in the spring of their tenure.

Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2016 and should include the following:

-Cover Letter of self-introduction.
-Curriculum Vitae
-Research Statement (2 pages) – Detailing the significance of the candidate’s area(s) of interest and plans for developing writing on it for publication in The Revealer.
-Workshop Proposal (2 pages) – Detailing plans for a workshop to take place in Spring 2016, inviting 4-6 interlocutors.
