Whisper App Reveal Women's Thoughts About Wearing a Hijab

Muslim women have recently gone to social media to express their thoughts about wearing a hijab. Whisper is a new app that allows users to anonymously express their feelings. Many Muslim women have a lot of strong feelings while wearing their hijab and that many people treat them differently. The hijab is a visual symbol of Islam and can sometimes be looked as a symbol of women oppression. Various countries have their own laws and regulations about hijabs. France and Turkey do not allow hijabs to be worn in courts, schools, or universities. Egypt banned the hijab for women until they reach puberty. Iran feels very strongly about hijabs and women who do not wear them in public can be imprisoned or fined because that is breaking the law. Some of the comments on Whisper include, “The struggle of running to get your hijab when guests arrive” and “I seriously hate when someone asks me why do I wear the hijab. Like go some research yo…” These are just a few of many comments that have been posted to Whisper. Women have been able to openly express themselves and talk about the struggles they face each day.
