Carmen Becker

I am a political scientist and anthropologist working on the role of social media in religious activism and on the transformations induced by the entanglement of religion and digital technologies. My focus is on Islam in general and Muslims in Europe in particular. My dissertation analysed the transformation of Muslim religious practices in online environments. I have published on methodological questions relating to online ethnographic methods and on the topics of my research focus.
