I write about all things religion and culture, from a religious studies perspective. My primary interest is in religion and new media, especially gaming. My new book Godwired: Religion, Ritual, and Virtual Reality, situates the study of new media within a religious studies context, inviting consideration of key issues and challenges (interactive sacred storytelling; hybrid digital identity; games as rituals; virtual sacred space; games as otherworldly journeys; the problem of virtual violence; and the desire generated by transmedia). I am currently at work on my second book, Religion, the Game: New Media and Interreligious Dialogue.
