Bio Statement: 
My media research and development and policy campaigning career spreads over a decade since 2004. Currently I am a Victoria Univeristy doctoral scholarship awardee (2012) based in Wellington. My research project explores relationship between media usage and attitudes towards Islam and Muslims. I have worked with Journalists for Democracy and Human Rights (JDHR) Pakistan (www.jdhr.org) as Research and Programme Coordinator. I have conducted a Media Monitoring Project “Promoting Democracy and Generating Mass Debates with UKS media group. I have conducted media seminars for the International Labor Organization in major media hubs for which I was given the ILO Appreciation Award. I have exhibited my skills in Campaigning, Communication, Networking and Outreach, Research and Capacity Building while working with ‘Imagine New South Asia’, ‘Asia Media Forum’, ‘South Asia Centre for Economic Journalists’ (SACEJ), Actionaid Asia, Asian Resource Foundation in Thailand. London School of Economics accepted my paper on “‘Construction of Taliban Image in Pakistan: Discourse Analysis of Editorials of Dawn and The News” for Annual MeCCSA Conference 2010. This has been published in International Journal ‘China Media Research’, Issue Vol. 7, No. 2 / April. (http://www.chinamediaresearch.net) I have also conducted a study, “Western Media and Growing Extremism in Pakistan: An Analysis”. My parents encourged me to make my destiny. Being a single mother, I always tried to give a better future to my two children without compromising my own future.
