Mormons to receive mission calls online

What once was a monumental moment in a Mormon's life, is now being altered by technology. Mormons have traditionally received their mission letters via mail, but by the end of the year Mormons will receive a text or email telling them that their letter is available to view online. According to the Virginian-Pilot article, many Mormons are bothered by this change, as it is a special moment for them to physically open their letter in front of their family and friends. While some see the online letters as a sorrowful change, others see it as a step toward globalization and growth in a diversity of followers.
