Vacancies: 2 Research Associates at the Department of the Studies of Religion, University of Bremen

The department of the Studies of Religion (University of Bremen) advertises two positions:
1 research associate with 50% of regular working time, 3 years
Tasks:
- Research in the field of religious studies with a focus on mediatization of religion and/or religion and video gaming with the opportunity for a doctorate
- Teaching load of one course per semester, participation in conducting examinations, academic self-government
Setting requirements:
- Above-average degree (Master) in the Study of Religion, Communications and Media Studies, Social Sciences or other related fields with a media-related focus,
- Experience in empirical religious studies research (focus: qualitative methods),
- Good language skills in written and spoken English, high level of commitment and initiative, ability to work in a team, careful and reliable working method,
- Willingness to cooperate in project management.

1 research associate with 100 % of regular working time, 4 years
Tasks:
- Research in the field of religious studies with a focus on mediatization of religion and/or religion and video gaming, Islam and mediatization
- Development of third-party funded projects
- Conducting two BA-course (2 SWS), participation in conducting examinations, academic self-government
- Collaboration in the research projects of the professorship for Media of Religion
Setting requirements:
- Above-average degree (Master) in the Study of Religion, Communications and Media Studies, Social Sciences, or other related fields,
- Above-average Ph.D. degree in the Study of Religion, Communications and Media Studies or Social Sciences with a media-related focus,
- Experience in empirical religious studies research, media research or empirical social research (qualitative or quantitative methods),
- Project experience where possible,
- Very good language skills in written and spoken English, high level of commitment and initiative, ability to work in a team, careful and reliable working method,
- Willingness to cooperate in project management.

Both positions are limited to the scientific qualification according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Accordingly, only applicants can be considered who still have qualification periods according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG to the corresponding extent.
