Mormons use Facebook ad campaign

Simon Usbourne of The Independent (based in the UK) chronicles his experience seeing an ad appear on his Facebook newsfeed for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Investigating a bit further, he writes on how the Mormon Church is using the social networking site to increase awareness and their reach.

The strategy, while originally intended for app developers (http://tcrn.ch/N0OS2y), is perhaps indicative of the broader exposure of Mormonism in both popular culture (through the Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical 'The Book of Mormon') and politics (Republican US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is a Mormon).
