This panel offers reflections from seminar group members studying research questions relate to how media challenges and informs the practices of religious authorities. Perry and Pfannkoch from English and Campbell from Communication highlight key learnings gleaned from group discussions on how different disciplines view religious identity and understand the role the media plays in framing authority within religious communities and rituals.

Identity Panel Discussion

This panel provides an overview of what specific seminar member learned through their multi-disciplinary conversations on religious identity. Tsuria from Women Studies & Communication, Mansour from Architecture, Passamore from International Studies & Piscitelli from Library Sciences discuss shared themes gleaned from group discussions and presentation of member’s work about how they understand the performance and construction of religious identity through media because of their involvement in this seminar experience.
